With our boots in the stores, the merchandising team monitors in detail the performance of every product. We strive to have the best display for each product; always have sufficient stock and run the most effective promotions. With the pro-active mindset of our merchandising team, we are also able to discover new trends, understand the competition and know the position of each product in the market.

Product availability

We monitor the availability of the must-have products. Also we track the out of stock and almost out of stock products. This is essential information to directly take action when needed. According to the in 2002 published study of P&G: Retail Out-of-Stocks: A Worldwide Examination of Extent, Causes and Consumer Responses, the worldwide average level of out of stocks in retail in the FMCG industry to be about 8%. We estimate this number to be significantly higher for imported food products with limited shelf life.

Product visibility

We monitor how products and brands are displayed on the shelves and compare this with the merchandising guidelines. This helps to recommend planograms and optimize the sales

Promotion activities

We measure the effectiveness and ROI of promotional campaigns. Details about the display; the promotion stock levels and to ensure the promotion price is active. Armed with the important facts and insights about promotion performance, we are able to improve promotion effectiveness, make better decisions about promotion resource allocation, enhance promotion planning and finally also improve the promotion ROI.

This will help to analyze product price fluctuations by store.

Seasonal displays

Seasonal displays are a great way to increase product awareness at stores. With this report, we are able to keep track of the set-up, maintenance, and performance of seasonal displays.

Competition

The visibility, promotion activities, pricing and seasonal displays from the competition is closely monitored. With this information we discover new trends, understand our position in the market and use the information to efficiently launch new products. We collect data on SKU, brand and category level.

The data collected by our merchandising team is efficiently processed into fully automated reports. The reports give real-time feedback and allows us to constantly make decisions based on the facts – Knowledge is Key!
